The Ibanez AD-80 Analog Delay is a vintage-style delay pedal that uses a bucket-brigade device (BBD) chip to produce its echo effect. Its three main controls—Delay Time, Repeat, and Delay Level—shape the sound: Delay Time sets the spacing between the original signal and its repeats, Repeat controls the number of echoes (with higher settings causing longer feedback trails that can self-oscillate), and Delay Level adjusts the volume of the delayed signal relative to the dry input. The pedal features a single input and output for mono operation, and it is powered by a standard 9V DC connection. Its analog circuitry imparts a warm, slightly degraded character to the repeats, which is typical of BBD-based delays, and the effect can be bypassed via a footswitch to return to a clean, unaffected signal.
