One of my friends just got one of these. He's running it through a Boss MT-2 and some delay unit into a multi-effects amp, and it's great. I didn't even know what a theremin was until 4 days ago, and I've never fooled with another, but this one seems pretty good. I'm buying one of these once I scrounge up the cash for it.

Good Points: Great sounds

My first theremin. This is an excellent choice for experimental noisemaking. I immediately ran the box, which is a well constructed mic stand model, into a Moogerfooger Ring Modulator and a Boss dd-3 delay. I conjured up echoing frogs sailing into the cosmos on their space lily pads. You can't go wrong with this one.

Good Points: Unit is compact and suitably constructed for life on a mic stand. (Plastic Hammond style box)Runs off of a 9V battery which is liberating. No more wall warts. Mic stand model makes gigging it a breeze. Sounds are awesome, especially through effects. Will definitely get the attention of the audience.

Bad Points: Calibrating the unit to achieve further field distance was a bit of a chore but manageable. Be careful with the antenna, could break with careless handling.

I like this Theremin. It's quite easy to use and the construction is solid. The oldest of electronic instruments is just as useful as my synths in some respects. Running it through my effects rig creates some rather insane sounds. It's great with Delay, chorus, phase and trem (not too deep) and with a little overdrive it really tightens up the signal. Also, giving the screws on the bottom of the unit a touch while playing, it shifts the tone giving you many different variations. On the issue of volume adjustment, I just run it through a volume pedal. It's worked every time without any drawbacks. My yellow lab hates it but we don't really care about her taste in this matter.

Good Points: No need for power supply. Mic stand mountable (if you choose that option) Great design. Great price.

Bad Points: This doesn't make for a good review and I'm sorry for that but I haven't found myself wishing it had a feature it doesn't. I don't see the volume thing as a bad point. I like having the pedal under my foot.

Very affordable pitch-only theremin. Compact and ANALOG!

Good Points: its analog, none of that crappy digital stuff. It has a 7 octave range, as opposed to the Moog's 3 octaves.

Bad Points: drifts occaisionally. pitch only! should have a switch to change wave type (saw / sine)

Very Historical! Just what I wanted in the first place. I have a Big Briar and it works well but I wish I would have ordered this one 5 years ago instead. No power supply to hook up. Just put it where you want it and run a line to what ever your going to run it through!

Good Points: No Power supply to deal with. The Big Briar has a power supply that can't be replaced except from Big Briar or unless you know how.
Nice Telescopic antana with small vintage looking box set up! Price only around 4.00 compared to the Big Briar model for 0.00 or so!

Bad Points: It doesn't have a volume antana like standard Theremans. But I dont play it like that so for me it was in fact the way I wanted it. The only bad thing I can say is I wish I would have bought it around 5 years ago.

A good basic theremin. Much more affordable than others (big briar), but far less features. For noise this thing is great, run it through a delay and phaser or chorus.

Good Points: Good sound quality, and good parts. Affordable.

Bad Points: Kind of a pain to tune, the oscilators drift often. No knobs except sensitivity. It would be nice to have a knod that changed the waveform.
