Shin-Ei Fuzz Box
User Reviews of the Shin-Ei Fuzz Box:

I actualy do not own this model, I own the Shin Ei Tempo fuzz wah... But the fuzz circut is exactly the same...
Lets just say that this thing sounds like a chainsaw going through a burning tube amp... I love mine, it is just so raw and nasty. Some serios buzz and octave up action, and it rips and farts to boot... The best fuzz I have ever owned!..

Good Points: Mega huge sound
buzz/fuzz/sounds like the end.
well built
each unit has its own characteristics.
battery life is HUGE...

Bad Points: Rare, expensive, battery only...

This is a great pedal if only for the reason that it sounds like a chainsaw wielding maniac trying to get through the side of a log cabin on a dirt-bike while..... Well, you get the picture.
I got this as a freebie from my old boss, and while no one could even pretend that this has any tone control it is brilliant for making that really mad dry fuzz noise. At first I thought it was rubbish, but with a bit of experimentation and perseverance, it sounds much better (though still very dry and dirty).
The pedal does suck the volume when in use, but with a decent boost it can get anyone's attention.
I wouldn't compare it with any modern fuzz pedal (there's no competition), but it's certainly got charm all of it's own.
Mine had a dodgy switch, which was replaced, but unfortunately it's now stuck on eterna-fuzz, so if anyone can get me pics/diagrams of how the innards should be set up I'd appreciate it.

Good Points: Fuzz-tastic.
Really great, dirty, dry fuzz.

Bad Points: No real control over the sound.
Sucks the volume, needs a boost.

This is the ultimate fuzz pedal. It's the buzziest and nastiest fuzz I've ever heard. It honestly sounds like a swarm of angry bees or a chainsaw cutting wood. It's only really got one sound but I love this pedal - it's well worth what I paid for it. Trashy and great.

Good Points: Wonderful buzzy sound. Sounds totally awful.
Expensive and hard to find.

Bad Points: One real sound, not much gain either so it's not much good as a sound source.
Only really useful on guitars.
