The Fender Blender is one of the Holy Grail Fuzzboxes. It has controls for Volume, Sustain, Tone and Blend. There are two foot switches: On & Off, and Tone Boost. In addition to producing a variety of Fuzz/Distortion Tones, this pedal can create a range of warm distortions from a minor fuzz to an extreme pulsing screach. The pedal has a very bassy distortion, it can overload on the low end. Tone Enhancer Button gives the distortion a little high end boost.

i borrowed my friend's last night, this thing is totally insane. it chews up and vomits whatever you put into it, and it's pretty versatile too. i don't understand why guitarists use it.

This is a sensitive beast. The knobs are recessed for the sole reason that the slightest tweak will put you somewhere else. This pedal is so tweakable you can just use your guitar's tone and volume knobs to get all sorts of noise. This pedal is extremely heavy and has loads of sustain. The tone boost gives you some nice octave overtones and can get robotic with a neck pickup. I don't recommend this is you have a 2nd guitarist because it is so thick that you easily get lost in the mix. I still recommend it for the fact that this pedal is filthy.
Good Points: Loud.
Thick and milky fuzz.
Octave ring mod sounds.
True Bypass.
Bad Points: Can get lost in the mix if not dialed in properly.
Maybe a bit too sensitive to change.

This is a HEAVY HEAVY pedal - you can get huge bassy swashes of noise out of it - it's a pretty classic pedal, so I'm surprised there aren't more reviews. Honestly this pedal is tailor made for noise, I can't see musicians in other styles getting much use out of it. If you like destructive fuzz/octaves this is great.

Bad Points: hey guys let's hide the battery compartment way down inside in a tiny corner and cover it with plastic

I traded a clone of this pedal for one of the newer reissues ... and, boy, am I glad that I did. :)
Good Points: Shreds any signal that passes through it with atonal and quavering upper octave harmonics, yet is incredibly responsive to the nuances of an input signal. Has a decent range in its tone knob sweep. Does not seem to produce unwanted noise, even at higher sustain levels. Works well with solid state amplification. Has a conveniently-placed, negative-center 9V DC jack (reissue only).
Bad Points: Reversed ins/outs. Still Difficult to change batteries with the reissue. Seems as thought it can only achieve unity gain in boost mode. No LED to indicate when the pedal is engaged or current battery life.

had my bro @ sirkut electronics build me a clone of this classic pedal, couldn't be happier. not 100% sure how it stacks up to the original but the pedal i have in my grubby paws is nothing short of gnarly. destroys with sick octave fuzz nasties. lotta good control via tha 4 knobs and tone boost switch. ya can get subtle with it but i prefer the blown out sound when you crank it, esp. w/ the boost on. heavy!
Good Points: mean! best fuzz i've ever used, rubberier and meaner than the octave fuzz on the ring stinger.
Bad Points: er, original is pricey. dunno 'bout battery problems since i wallwart it.

Holy hell this thing destroys any signal in its path..I personally don't see how guitarists love this pedal..it fizzles and farts when you play chords through it...as for noise..this is a damn fun pedal. The boost is real fun to play with...generally i leave the knobs on a particular setting..moving it too much will give you sounds of fizzing, etc.
Good Points: Destroys your signal..what more could you ask.
Bad Points: Drains batteries VERY quickly. Very expesnive. Could easily build one yourself for less( in parts) than a real one.
