2 knobs - speed and intensity. One switch for "trem-chop". The trem chop adds to the "helicopter effect" of the pulse modulator built in - slicing off the top of the sweep.
Good Points: - i've never used a better tremolo
Bad Points: - doesn't do well with very hot signals
Good Points: - Ridiculously flexible.
- Wonderful choppy sounds.
- Ring modulator-esque clanging on faster settings.
- Can make a feedback loop sound like a broken Commadore 64.
Bad Points: - Non really. Maybe a little fragile and bulky.
I can't decide where I want it in my chain,
so I may have to get more than one of
them.
I too have the reissue one, the big ol'
metal box with the blue writing on the
front. It has a waveform type switch, and
a knob to change it.
It's got VERY powerful extremes on all
the knobs; speed, intensity, waveform.
That's, in my mind, what sets it apart
from all the other tremolo pedals;
extreme versatility. No other tremolo
pedal that I've seen has this much ability.
It can make your entire signal a
humungous stutter-stop affair with the
press of a button.
Good Points: Intensely versatile.
Relatively inexpensive, but still badass.
Pretty.
Bad Points: Huge.
Easy to scratch.
This pedal has three big knobs, a small toggle switch, and the on/off switch. The knobs are shape, rate and depth. The switch toggles between a square/pulse wave and a saw/triangle wave. The shape knob morphes the triangle from an up-sloped wave to a triangle to a down sloped wave. When in square mode the shape knob morphs the the pulse amount. The depth an rate are pretty self explanitory. You can get traditional tremolo but that is not all. When you turn the depth and rate all the way up you get an almost ring modulator type sound. As you adjust the shape knob the ring mod produces differant tones.
Good Points: Unlike alot of tremolos on the market, including BOSS, when engaged this pedal will not cut your volume at all. I was so happy when I tried this because I was tired of losing signal when I turned on my tremolo. Defanitely worth its money.
Bad Points: It is big. Bad for small pedal boards.
