The FX57 offers a unique distortion circuit with a built-in delay of 7 to 40 milliseconds for a distinctive thickening of the distortion effect. Creates more sustain. Controls include DELAY, which adjusts the time delay of the distortion signal that is added to the effect, LEVEL, PRESENCE, which modifies the tone or sound of only the distortion signal, and DISTORTION, which adjusts the amount of distortion applied to the original signal.

inexpensive pedal, distortion is a little weak, but delay and presence knobs are indeed where it's at! all other knobs stay at 10, in the fbl the only truly decent sounds come from the delay knob...almost your the bionic man or somthinggingingingink
Good Points: cheap, ok in a f.b.l.
Bad Points: weaker distortion than most other dod's

Distortion circuit with doubling effect. Not bad. The distortion is pretty throaty. Open it up and muck around with the trimpots, as stated below. You can get longer delays, but they become very sludgy and indistinct. Almost a bit-reduction effect. the presence control is a plus. Overall a decent, inexpensive pedal.
Good Points: dod construction. ability to mess with the delay time. pretty good distortion. presence control is quite useful.
Bad Points: could have more gain.

This one seems to have some glitches, artifacts when I put it in a chain with my other pedals, I don't know if this was a one time thing or not, when recording and viewing what these appear like in a wave file, they are some short bands of full amplitude
Good Points: adds it's own coloration to your pedal chain. Has a delay knob which most DOD distortions do not. No silly names for knob functions. Seems to maybe have some unexpected noise glitches occasionally(?)
Bad Points: Not for use as a source of extreme noise in a short pedal chain.

note: if you adjust the internal trimpots
you can create a delayed octave effects
by maxing the delay knob and moving
the (closest to bottom) trimpot untill you
hear the lowest frequency of feedback
and then (while imputing sound) move
the middle trimpot untill you hear a pitch
bent synth tone a couple seconds after
each sound you put in. with this you can
make crazy delayed sounds that can be 3
octave lower and sometimes completely
reversed pitches.
Good Points: - delayed random synth note generator
- presence knob dials in HUGE low end.
- high gain butt rock distotion
- quick distorted slapback delays
- cheap!
Bad Points: -nothing i can think of, sometimes it can
drowned out your sound with caotic
swishing and mdulating distortian

ok, this CAN be a pretty fun pedal --with a simple adjustment. This pedal has a true analog delay in it via the MN3002(? been awhile since I've had mine open.) Anyway, open her up, find the 2 trim pots inside near the MN3002 chip, one is probably for delay length and the for regeneration I guess. Just adjust them until you get the the sound you want. I have mine set up to the max length delay sounds pretty crappy! and then at about a 3/4 turn of the "Delay" pot it breaks into self-oscillation, So now it makes a great sound source. If your slightly ambitious it would be cool to bring these trim pots out so you can easily tweak them. After doing this it becomes a pretty useful pedal for what it offers it a compact space... and it's dirt cheap so what the hell.
Good Points: Easily modded to self oscillate for some analog delay madness. CHEAP, so you can crack it open and mod it with much worry.
Bad Points: the distortion is pretty average/plain... hard to find bad points on such a cheap pedal.

It's an ok pedal, the delay and presence knobs are the only two i ever manipulate when its in my effects chain. the other two i just leave at 10. It adds some distortion to the signal, enough for me to keep it in the chain until i find something better.
Good Points: Presence knob makes a difference in the audio signal that is fairly interesting when making noise.
Bad Points: Not as gritty as i would like it to be, i wouldn't pay more than for it if you find one.

pretty lame distortion quite honestly. doesn't have much grit or punch to it and the level doesn't get very high. the delay feature makes it a bit more interesting, but not enough to make it worth any money. i got this for free and i'm definitely glad i didn't pay for it. not much else to say.
Good Points: delay...thickens up the distortion a bit.
Bad Points: weak distortion if you are looking for a loud harsh distortion.
