This mean green machine seems to have been built to give things a nice funky sound by the good people at DOD, which is okay...if thats what you like. With a little bit of playing around however this pedal quickly shows its true colors, that of a snarling rumbling noise tank.
This unit has gut busting lows to dog scaring highs. two sensitive knobs means that this is a knob twisters dream.
throw it in a floop and it gives you great control over the sound, put it in pedal chain and thickens up the signal nicely

as far as filters go there are certainly better ones, if your using this in your main pedal chain, you might want to track them down. however this is a pretty awesome little monster in your feedback loops, as everyone mentions...so many possibillities, and the stronger(louder) your signal the more response you get...

as everyone else mentioned you can get really crazy sounds out of it, as well as very nice frequency sweeps, good glitchy sounds and some higher ranged wah sounds as well as some really low bends. Its definitely a great addition to any set up.

After reading all the great reviews for this pedal I decided to break down and obtain one. The frequency sweeps this green beast can conjure up are pretty amazing.

A great unit all around. The sub frequencies you can generate can make a grown human lose control of his bowels. It's bulletproof and very cost effective. I highly recomend this pedal for it's endless posibilities.

the possibilties are endless with this one. it adds a lot of really strong color to a feedback loop...the range of the knobs is superb and i can coax so much variation out of two knobs...i have yet to see another two knob pedal do something like that...

Lots of people hype this pedal, and I can't believe I ignored this pedal for so long. This is a very agressive envelope filter. If used properly, it can be one of the most important pedals in your arsenal. And with a used price between fifteen and twenty-five bones, how could you pass this one up?

Got this after reading Degenerate where Mr Stimbox listed it in his top 5 of effects. With this pedal patience is the key, you have to experiment to find where it does any good in a chain of effects. I mainly use it after a fuzz to get maximum control over the sound. The sweeps are massive from rumbles to high freqs. I love it even though it only has two knobs.

I use my envelope filter in a line loop and it tends to have a wide range of response depending upon which of the other effects are switched on and how they're set, anything from useless high pitched sqealing to low bass rumbles and alot of variations inbetween. As I understand it the frequency control will filter out all but a specific frequency within a certain range of the potentimeter, this is what gives that sick sweeping sound as you rotate the control. The range control is responsible for the width of the frequency sweep. It's practically a required pedal in any noisician's set-up.

I was suprised at what an envelope filter could do to a sound in a chain of effect pedals... the FX25 has two knobs on it. When you grab both knobs in one hand and crank both down you get a pretty sick deep crunching sound if you have some distortion before it.
