It's an analog delay. Not too much to say about it: it sounds like a standard analog delay. It can be found for quite cheap, which is good. It self-oscillates nicely, but I felt that it swelled a little too quickly for my personal tastes/uses. The mix knob is great and very useful, but that's about all that stands out. If you're looking for a good, standard analog delay, it's certainly not a bad place to look.
Good Points: Good analog delay sound.
Cheap.
Trim pots are fun.
Self-oscillates pretty well.
Mix knob is a godsend; every delay should have one.
Bad Points: Short delay time.
Eats batteries.
That oh-so-breakable DOD switch.
Self-oscillation can sound a little metallic.

a decent muddy delay. not the longest or best out there, but for an analog delay its very inexpensive. it does lose some of the high end as previously stated, so i deffinately dont like that part of it, but if you need that non piercing rumble, im sure this can provide.

This is cool, its analog and cheap coz it doesn't say so on the front. Typical delay controls, has trimpots on the inside that can mean self oscillation.
Good Points: Cheap sounds warm and mucky
Bad Points: Max delay time about 300ms. When mix is above 50% the input signal drops.

I really don't believe this is digital, it sounds to mucky 2 b digital. Trim Pots inside don't really make much sense, but are fun
Good Points: Tweaked correctly, it will self oscilate. Very warm and mucky sounding
Bad Points: Mucky sounding (good to me, bad to others)
can lose signal if used with too many other pedals

*Currently* this is probably best deal and easiest to find deal on a true analog delay. The BBD chip in it is the excellent MN3005, and as I just opened it to see that, I also notice 3 trim pots in there that could be great to tweak, but I haven't tried that yet. It has decent sound to it, pretty warm, loses high end detail...pretty typical of analog delays but this one loses more than others. Still a very nice pedal. Great for noise! I've seen several selling in the range probably since it doesn't say "analog" on it. I got mine for but it's a bit beat up, still works well tho'. Recommended when found for .00 to .00 no need to pay more there's a lot of these out there.
Good Points: Nice warm sound. Not overpriced like most other analog delays.
Bad Points: loses a bit of the high frequencies... this also acan be a nice characteristic.

i love delays, and dod's delays do a great job for noise -- plus they're easy to find used at great prices. i just picked this up and had hours of fun experimenting with it. lots of variation can be found using the "delay" and "mix" knobs. the wide range offered with the "delay" knob, and the wet/dry adjustments with the "mix" were just what i need when the dfx9 isn't getting the job done. this is a digital pedal, but sounds analog at times. great delay for noise purposes.
