Really gritty, dirty and evil delay pedal. Got it only for the infinite repeat (which is not infinite at all as the signal fades away after a while!) function. Great for fast cut-up noise.

I was going to sell this thing for MAD
CHEAP on Craigslist because I thought
the infinite repeat was broken. Thanks
to reviews on this site about the
tweakable trim pots inside, I can now
get slightly more delay time, feedback
regeneration and the infinite repeat is
now working!

Perfect delay pedal for the
experimental, noise and drone stuff that
I do.

Purchased At: accidentally stolen from a pal.
Good Points: Tweakable trim pots
Dirty gritty sound
Infinite repeat for capturing short noise
bursts and dropping the pitch with the
delay time.
Bad Points : None that I can think of right now.

Just got this delay for 20 euro's. The seller told me the infinite repeat didnt work anymore. I read some reviews of other people who had the same problem.

ITS VERY EASY TO FIX!

I opened up the pedal to tweak the trimpots and one (of three) calibrates the delay range. Adjusting this pot fixes the hold function. The other two are for feedback and overall range.

Nice little pedal, good for noizes. Put on hold and down

Excellent. I love this thing. Just a bare-bones short delay. Great for vocals. Works incredibly well for making short loops. An invaluable piece of my electronics set-up.

-Nice and gritty short delay.
-Durable construction.
-Awesome sounds when you mess with the delay time (especially when you've made a sweet loop.)
Bad Points : None, really...

this is a great delay pedal. sure, it may be quite simplistic, but that's because it's an old pedal. up to 1 second of delay time. you choose the delay time out of one of six modes, then you can adjust the delay time more and choose the number of repeats. i would say this pedal has a little bit more of a gritty old-school sound than newer Boss or Digitech delays. this pedal also includes a looping mode, but this feature doesn't function on my pedal. that's okay, i use my boss dd-6 or boss rc-2 for that.

Good Points: + great sounding delay, 1 second is enough for most applications
+ perfect for using with other delays and reverbs in your setup for rhythmic loops
Bad Points : - doesn't have features of newer digital delays, such as longer delay times, reverse delay, etc.

This delay is gritty. The 8 bit samples that I create with the infinite repeat sound great for noise. I like putting it in a loop to grab short bursts of noise. This is tough old DOD construction. I have had this pedal for 15 years and it is still going strong.

i remember this was the first delay pedal i got. it was great for my drum machine and messing with the pitch on the inf. repeat mode. i had alot of fun with this thing. now that i know about the trim pots i think i will try and find it again. you can never have too much delay.

This pedal is fantastic. Having owned one for many years, the DFX9 has endless possibilities. Not to mention the trim pots that are located inside the pedal can provide slightly more delay time as well as regeneration tweaking (can get some really INSANE creeping feedback this way) Great for noise or those "soundscape" projects out there.

Good Points: Best part is using the Infinite repeat with the delay knob all the way to the "0" position, catch a sound, then increase the delay time max, it drops the pitch of the sample, generally giving you nice LOW rumbling walls of noise.
Bad Points : There is nothing bad to say about this pedal at all!

this is a really nice digital delay - easy to use and it sounds good. hold is only good on the longest delay setting and realtime "delay time" tweaking adjusts pitch accordingly. i've taken the trimpots on the PCB and replaced 'em with normal knobbed pots - makes repeats and delay time far more tweakable. as previous reviewer suggested, a low power mod would also be nice but its already a tight fit to add two more pots into this case. for sampling i prefer the two-button style of the digitech pedals but this has its own purpose.

this has been an essential part of my noise set-up for at least 5 years. i really like delays combined with a distortion that works well with it (and any other effects) in self-oscillating loops. for the longest time, this was the only delay i would use in that set-up. changing the "delay" knob creates great flanging sounds, but also colors the rest of the sound quite a lot. my favorite part of this effect is the "range/mode" knob, which adjusts from a max 16 ms, mas 63 ms, max 250 ms, max 1 sec or infinite repeat. with the inf repeat, pressing the pedal locks it into infinite from an otherwise 1 sec max delay. when locked in inf repeat, adjusting the "delay" knob changes the speed and pitch of the loop. the "level" knob adjusts the level of the effect over the dry signal. only complaint about the performance and options is that there is no mix--the dry signal is fixed, the wet is controlled with the "level" knob. this thing sucks batteries like crazy. sometimes that's a good thing--it makes distorted sounds when the batteries are low. one day i'll pick up an extra one to bend/modify, and add in a low power mod.
