User Reviews of the DOD Bass EQ FX42-B:

The 2nd DOD eq for bass I've owned, and I'm still a huge fan. No matter its' age, this is a great unit.

Good Points: A giant range of freq variations - mega boost.

Bad Points: The stupid DOD ac adapter. Why such a unique style, DOD? Should've added a compresser.

Surprisingly useful. Switch is very sensitive to a light touch, making it easy to trigger on and off rapidly for chaotic and unpredictable sounds.

Good Points: Excellent in a loop with an envelope filter and distortion. Very versatile.

Bad Points: Old. Typical DOD battery covers that fall off and get lost. 1/8" power jack - requires adapter.

The FX42-B is a great pedal, one of the few I own that I was able to get great sounds out of right away. I was suprised at how much it boosts the signal, and of course as a DOD it is well built. I find this pedal added allot of expression to my sound, it is always in my loop somewhere.

Good Points: -boosts the signal
-lots of expression/options with this pedal
-well built; solid case

Bad Points: -rubber knobs can slip off

it was cheap so i pretty much bought it without really knowing what to expect out of it. it blew me away, and quickly became my weapon of choice. i use the direct out on a deluxe memory man which i link to the big muff (usa) --> dod envelope filter --> boss phase shifter --> boss blues driver -- > dod bass eq fx 42-b --> then back into the memory man, and i can control the tone, and frequency with the eq. great range of slightly unpredictable noise. loud squelching noise, explosive bass, weird metallic tones, searing static. anyways, just get one if you find one. they are usually pretty cheap, and worth it in a chain.

Good Points: -strange array of harsh noises
-great for any range of sound

Bad Points: -a bit unpredictable

this eq is a bit better than the standard model...but i like bass heavy sounds, and this thing will eq accordingly, hence the name.

Good Points: solid dod...

Bad Points: ...are they still made?
