| Digitech Multi-Play PDS 20/20 |
 |
One of Digitech's double play two-switch pedals, the PDS 20/20 can capture two seconds worth of sound and loop it infinately. Delay settings are also at 1 second and 500 MSec. Capable of catching a long loop at a short delay time and expanding the captured loop to 2 seconds, this pedal is great for pounding low end sounds and freaky repitition.

This is a great delay pedal. It has that low-res 80's vibe to it. It's digital but pretty warm sounding. The modulation section is great, it really adds a beautiful character to the delay. Inside the pedal there are three trimpots (facing sideways). You can adjust them to get much more out of this pedal. The first trimpot is on the far left isBias, don't mess with this one as it will make the delay distorted and unpleasant sounding. The middle trimpot adjusts the amount of repeats, you can adjust it so that the pedal will self-oscillate like a m'fer. The last trimpot on the far right adjusts delay time, you can adjust it all the way to around 13 seconds of delay time. Doing that turns the pedal into a looper. You can play a phrase and either loop it with the second footswitch or play over it for sound on sound.

I've owned this pedal for a very long time and it's always been an important part of every setup. There are three delay modes ranging up to 2 seconds. You can capture loops when the delay time is short, hit the infinate repeat and turn the delay time to make the loop crunch down into some mean lows. You can do the same with the other delay settings to get all kinds of cool sounds.

Another of DOD/Digitech's great delay pedals, almost essential for those Merzbow stlye loops. This one has three different delay modes - flanger, chorus, and delay (up to a full 2 seconds) - contols for delay speed and regeneration, plus a modulation section w/ rate and depth. As usual you can do the infinite repeat thing and bypass the effect, then switch the bypass on and off to drop the loop into the mix at various points. Great pedal and worth the money.
