You've discovered the Catalinbread Super Chile Picoso, a bad assed clean boost pedal based on the Guru Jack Orman's topology. It like many of its predecessors utilizes the BS170 MOSFET to boost your signal with a very natural tube like response. Unlike other commercial boost pedals the MOSFET inside of the Chile Picoso is protected from static, so you don't have to worry about saying the right things to it and/or unplugging it properly.
