After reading the reviews on here I decided to pick one of these up. It was well worth the hefty price tag. It gives me total control over my loop and can bring me from highs to lows in less than a second. I feel in love with it as soon as I used it. I can't imagine a better EQ for the price. I use it at the end of my loop and I couldn't be happier with the sounds.

Good Points: well built
price isn't bad for what you get
amazing control over your sounds

Bad Points: the only bad point is that unless you have something plugged into both the output and input the LED doesn't turn on. It's just annoying, I keep thinking it's broken.

Not bad outside of a feedback loop. Inside of a feedback loop this thing kills. Bleeding screaming hell is just a slider away. You can also make a quick change from the screaming hell into a low drone with this pup.

Good Points: Nice tone control.

Bad Points: Expensive if buying new. I got a busted up version off of ebay.

Does as it should, definately not the best EQ money can buy but I like it just fine. Gives me a nice rumble when I push the bass and nice screech when I crank the hi. I use this a lot. EQ is EQ

In my opinion, this pedal was a little too expensive for what it did, but I find myself using it a lot. So, to me, it's definitely worth the purchase. Like said in a previous review, it is good for cutting down on feedback, but there's really no point if you're going for noise. It can really boost the bass and low end, causing it to roar and pretty much shake a house. You can use some of the higher end sliders to greatly boost some higher pitched sounds, and make it ear-piercingly loud. The volume slider is a big plus for me.

Good Points: good high and low end boost. Plus the volume slider. It's also very reliable and sturdy. I actually dropped my amp on it and it was run over by a car, still works perfect, not even a dent in the metal.

Bad Points: Too expensive for what it does.

The GE-7 is one portable and handy eq in pedal form. The frequency range isn't that wide: only 100hz - 6.4khz but I guess it's optimised for guitars... still, it's a bit disappointing. This eq is not subtle. Nice paint job.

Good Points: the obvious compact format, can be switched on/off, sliders offer satisfying resistance, responsive, master volume, a pedal that's always useful

Bad Points: somewhat limited freq range, sliders are very close together, not much tread/throw for 30db (so they're very responsive)

This is an EQ pedal to cut or boost frequencies. Most people will use a rack EQ with 20 or so bands so I'm not sure how useful a pedal EQ is for sound modeling. I guess it can be used as a quick solution or a gig when you don't have to bring too much equipment along.
A pedal EQ is useful because they are easier to turn on and off so you can use it as an effect. You can get some deranged filtering effects by totally cutting or boosting some or the sliders. This pedal is very useful to "lo-fi up" vocals I've found. Be warned though this pedal is noisy (as any pedal would be that boosts freqencies) and it sucks quite a bit of treble. The dano EQ is actually more transparent (but not so reliable).

Good Points: Good for quick EQ adustment and turning on and off odd EQ settings to use as a strange effect.
Boss reliable.

Bad Points: Very noisy and cuts treble.
Only 7 bands. A rack would be better for all round EQ adustment.

I love this thing. I got mine cheap and im keeping an open eye for another cheap one so i can toggle eq-settings. And I'm poor. And stingy. I don't usually buy two of anything unless it's from taco bell. Give's ultimate tonal control in an amp's fx loop. I use this for a few main purposes: giving a bass-boost to my amp, using a treble-boost or dry tone for lead work or to switch things up, but my favorite is positioning the sliders in an up-down-up-down etc. manner, it just makes it sound like there is a big warty sci-fi-worthy monster inside my amp. nearly obliterates any recognition of notes or tones with enough gain at this setting, just a jack-hammer type "bwaaargh." beautiful.

i also like to turn amp vol/gain all the way up and set the volume slider on the pedal all the way down.

Good Points: Complete tonal control. Can cut feedback (but why?), can give bass boost for BIG rhythm, can give high-end boost for lead work, but most importantly, you can craft your own nasty noisiness and turn your gtr amp into a monster. +volume control is handy.

Bad Points: a little pricy for what it does. But i found it worth every penny. no other bad points. im buying another.

Basically, the EQ's sliders either cut or boost a specific frequency within a given range, there is an additional slider which controls the output level. I used the GE-7 early on and it worked out fine, by using both hands to work the sliders in opposing directions you can actually get a kind of filtering effect, sans the resonance. Eventually I bought a DOD envelope filter and it did a better job. Kind of limited for noise, especially if used for tone shaping as it really only has an affect in the midrange. Better for noisicians is the Boss Bass EQ, which is definitely more noticeable when applied, adds even more bottom to already thick, rumbling noise, w/o geting muddy (unless your signal is already muddy from the start.).

Good Points: can simulate filtering effects by moving sliders in opposing directions

Bad Points: Pedal covers mostly midrange (corresponding to guitar), GEB-7 (Bass EQ) of more usefulness for noise
