I bought this mainly for my ambience project; which it works wonders for. The delay is great, while the reverb can be a little cheasy. Sturdy as hell, as are all boss pedals... as well as the fact that they eat batteries. Having reverb and delay in one pedal is pretty convenient.

Good Points: great sound
delay and reverb in the one unit
reliable
easy to lurn/operate

Bad Points: battery muncher
reverb can be a bit cheasy

I use this a lot. You can get a slurred together sound or direct. It's really clean, but the reverbs are a little cheap sounding. But I must admit, I love this pedal!

Good Points: It's got a nice spacious sound, and the ability to combine the reverb and delay together on a single pedal is definite plus for me. Definitely not an over priced pedal.

Bad Points: The reverb gets a little cheap sounding at times, but it's still worth it to get this.

I like it! It does sound very digital and sheeny, but i like the character it has, the only problem i have with it is the mix control, if its set over 50%, it drops the volume when engaged.

Good Points: Really clean delay, reverb very spacey

Bad Points: the mix control

this is not the pedal i was hoping for, the reverbs aren't that great and the delay doesn't pan as the one on the DD-5 does (that hope was the reason i sunk money into this thing). still good for adding some stereo dynamics to your sound or just having another stereo delay but it operates the same as most the Boss digital delays in that the delay time creates noise, not a nice sweep pitch change.

Good Points: decent digital delay. stereo outputs are always a plus. i wish i'd bought a delay/pitchshifter instead.

Bad Points: the reverbs are okay but nothing amazing and sound quite cheap if abused.

Adequate reverb for a pedal, but despite the claims it doesn't match what is available in most rack processors (I prefer using the Alesis Midiverb 4 - great reverbs w/ decay times up to 30 sec!, which is an eternity when you think about it.). The first three modes on the Boss are strictly delay of varying length, adjusting the delay time doesn't create a smooth sweep of the delayed sound, but a rough, broken sound, which may appeal to some, but not all. Modes 4-7 are delay combined w/ reverb, while 8-11 are reverb alone. Most of these have a rather phony sound, the only one I use on a fairly regular setting is 11, with the reverb time set anywhere from 12 o'clock to full on. The one saving grace of this unit is this... where else are you going to find a multi-function reverb in a package this small?

Good Points: 11 modes of delay, reverb, or combinations of the two in a compact pedal

Bad Points: Most of the reverbs sound somewhat phony w/ noticeable gating at the end of the decay

A nice pedal. I find it more useful for recording than using in a live set-up. There are 11 modes for this pedal. Modes 1 to 3 are delay times of 32 milliseconds to 2 seconds in length. Modes 4 to 7 are have delays from 32 milliseconds to 1 second and have reverbs corresponding to length of the delay; from two small room reverb to hall and plate reverbs. Modes 8 through 11 are just the reverbs to themselves. The balance knob is also very useful as it goes from bypass to 50% (half effected, half dry signal) to just the effect signal. The sound quality is good but when a few of the 8 to 11 reverbs are turned up all the way they sound to digital for my liking. This pedal is great for adding a bit of fullness to your sound. It's also useful for spliting a mono signal and then adding some reverb to create fake stereo image. Some might not like that when you feed it a signal and turn the delay time knob that you break up the signal, but I think it is interesting to create a digital sounding cut up type noise.

Good Points: As stated in previous review; great sounding delays. Very useful for creating a more full sound for recording. Different performance of the delay time knob can create some neat digital sounding crackles and warbles. Balance knob.

Bad Points: Some of the reverbs sound too digital in my opinion. Eats batteries! I don't care for adaptors, but this pedal is making me think of getting one.

I use this pedal on my theremin; in a chain with an 80's ProCo Rat,this pedal, and a RockTec chorus. The settings I use are the F.Back up all the way and the delay time down all the way on the #1 mode. This has an effect kind of like a ring modulator. The second is on mode #1 or #4 with the F.Back up all the way and the delay time in the middle. The second setting is for when I set my theremin to one pitch and leave it. This effect layers the one note continuously
, and has a slight feedback that changes the harmonics of the note slowly over a period of time. In all this,to me, is one of the greatest pedals i have used.

Good Points: Delay is one of the best I have used. It sounds great. The settings have a wide range. Also can be used in stereo.

Bad Points: Reverb sounds are weak when used alone. When the delay time knob is turned during performance you lose the effect for a short time.
